Rughooking, computers and snakes again Oh my!

Posted on 10:51 PM by hill wilf
Primitive Rughookers love to hook animals

What is a girl to do my old computer quit working last week.So today I have been fighting with it trying to figure out if something got unplugged. It's ridiculous I unplugged everything under the sun and then plugged the cords in again but no power.  Well I have a slight confession It didn't help I accidentally dropped it.Note to self never ever have a computer on a antique treadle sewing table It's too small and narrow. It worked for days after the drop so I still do think it's something simple I keep telling myself.
Right now I am trying to use hubby's really really small laptop to write this post. It has taken me hours to update this computer. I couldn't even get into blogger until I added chrome. I am hunched over inches from its itsy bitsy monitor just to see the screen. What dedication.
This month I joined back up with Donna's rug hooking group called Primitive Ruggers that has started to meet once a month in the day time at the Country loft.It was so much fun. I used to attend Donna's evening group but once I moved back to Crest I didn't want to drive up the long grade at night. It was so nice seeing the hookers I hadn't seen in years. The last time I had seen some of the gals little Jack wasn't even born yet.Time sure flies by.They sure made me feel welcomed back.

What a great job!

Today I was working in my garden and a lady on a golf cart stopped to admire my crazy painted chicken coop. I have been repainting my coop and thinning my  twenty year old Cecile Brunner rose bush. Unfortunately hubby found a baby snake wiggling under the arbor when we moved it last weekend all I can say it was too big for it to be a worm. I am getting so jumpy that I scared myself just telling my cousin a couple of days ago about the baby snake when I spied a wool worm on my bed! What a goof I jumped.

I am such a coward anything living outside that startles me freaks me out when I am gardening. So these dumb snakes that keep popping up are seriously freaking me out. Then today I was sitting on the porch telling my cousin on the phone about all the birds and how Morris is such a Hannibal lector cat
when what do I do I almost step on a dead bird on my welcome mat.  I felt horrible I wish he would just stick to lizards and gophers.I said a little prayer for the little bird and tried not to think about it.
                                                                     another nice hooked rug

Looking back at the last two weeks of this Simple Life of mine

Posted on 5:47 PM by hill wilf
                                                            I love Dee's colors

The last few weeks flew by what can I say I left my camera in a diaper bag and didn't pick it up til this week. I went to a Fairy garden event at Summers Past Farms last Saturday and boy did I miss my camera. So this week when I was visiting my daughter I happily retrieved my camera downloaded my pictures from a couple of weeks ago and was back on blogger track.  Looking back on the last few weeks I realize I do keep busy!

Today I am a little bit tired from being out in the garden all morning it was pretty hot.  I found a gopher head no body thanks to Hannibal Lector Morris. I saw three lively monarch butterflies dancing around in my garden.Right now I can hear a squirrel making a distress sound Oh dear watch out for Morris! I am hoping a certain someone has a long nap so I can finish this post.
Here are some of what the gals had been up to.
In the last two weeks I went to rug hooking group,a trip to Dee's. A visit to Linda's garden to see her new patio. Her patio is so pretty it looks out at her backyard garden and has huge plantation fans.Looking out at her garden was so relaxing. It was like having an extra room to enjoy.
I picked up some plants for my garden and a pile of bricks from Linda.
Not much done sorry to say

I also squeezed in a doctor appointment I might have carpal tunnel I have to wear a brace for a while. The doctor didn't say I can't rug hook? I also drove to Buena Creek Gardens in San Marcos. Plus baby sitting little Jack and helping my daughter. I then stopped in and enrolled in summer reading at the library. It's so nice when your librarian knows your name it makes the world a little less impersonal. It's a simple life enjoying the good days and healthy days and never taking anything for granted,Hugs Cheri enjoy your life!

Little Jack turns three at Disneyland

Posted on 2:31 PM by hill wilf

Mad hatter

Disneyland what can I say from the time we arrived just getting into the Disneyland parking lot your in a continual line of people.
Then the line continues as your getting your parking space. You get out of your car rush to the people movers and wait in long lines to get to Disneyland on the people movers. Now the rush to get in line for security  which is confusing since the lines are not lines but spreading lines with people not knowing they're in a line for security and not tickets. We get thru security and there it is the promised land Disneyland and the line to get into it is so close I can smell the popcorn. We're in finally and oh yes you guessed it the line at the restroom.

I guess summer has arrived at Disneyland and of course there were the additional high school grad students all over the place. I guess that's why there were so many people on a Wednesday.  My pictures do not do  justice to the amount of people at Disneyland. Besides my little vent it still is a wonderful place but I really think they should limit how many people they cram in the park.
It was fun seeing Disneyland thru little Jacks eyes.He was in awe all day and seeing his happiness was priceless.
Little Jack had a great time and he loves Disneyland. Here are some quick pics of Disneyland. It was a happy family day we shared with my daughters family and I will always remember seeing how excited that little guy was all day.It was his special day. When I think of my daughter spending a month in the hospital in premature labor and how  we waited day by day waiting for little Jacks lungs to get more developed so
she could deliver him. Then Jack and her both in intensive care I am in awe!
It's hard to believe seeing him now.We are blessed.Hugs cheri

                                                                         Jungle cruise

Snow white Megan said he was star struck!

We were on the railroad my favorite ride first thing in the morning

Little Jack was looking at puppets with Grandpa Jack

 Seeing Mom and Dad

Great drummers!

People

Aladdin dancers were really good!

I loved the music

It was a fun day and I realize how much I love living in Crest . I could never live in L.A.
I especially enjoyed the Lincoln exhibit  it was sad there were not that many people at it.
Oh I almost forgot I saw the tail end of a snake in my yard. I guess its Summer!
Rug hooking group is Tuesday and more pics of  rug hooking next week!
